🧺Solo parent survival systems: doing it all without breaking
You're not lazy. You're drowning. Five systems that take you from chaos to barely-floating in a fortnight.
When you''re the only adult in the house, systems beat willpower.
1. Sunday 30
Thirty minutes every Sunday:
- Look at the week''s calendar
- Plan 4 dinners (not 7)
- Pack tomorrow''s lunchboxes the night before
2. The launch pad
A basket by the front door with: water bottles, hats, sunscreen, library books, permission slips.
3. The capsule wardrobe (yours)
7 outfits you love. All laundered. No decisions on tired mornings.
4. Two-meal rotation
Pick two meals you can cook with your eyes closed.
If mornings are the hardest part, start with the seven-step school morning routine. You might pair these systems with short nervous-system resets, a plan for building a small financial buffer, and gentle support for rebuilding identity after divorce.
5. The off-duty hour
Once kids are asleep, one hour where you do nothing useful. Non-negotiable.
Survival is the foundation. Thrive comes after the system holds.
